About Van

Van is a Colorado native that studied photography and painting at Colorado State University, and he decided to put those creative skills to work by becoming a hairstylist. It’s been fifteen years since he’s made that decision, and he’s still behind it one hundred percent! A born leader, Van loves to teach and inspire, and you will love his down-to-earth and straightforward approach.  At his former salon he ran a very successful color program for eight years, a program that has helped many stylists become the color masters they are today. He loves to educate and pass on his knowledge to his co-workers and serves as an inspiration to fellow stylists, both as a hairstylist and as a human.  He is honest and direct, so rest assured that if you want to make a change (or keep your current look), he will be sincere in telling you why it can or cannot work for your hair.  His photography background gives him an artist’s eye, allowing him to see the whole picture of the hairstyle he is creating, resulting in a beautiful, cohesive look.  Van loves Panera iced tea, a really good cheeseburger and all 80’s alternative music (his heart belongs to Pat Benatar).  Bring all your knowledge of Star Wars (NEVER Star Trek) and an open mind to Van’s chair and you will have an amazing time filled with laughter and, of course, beautiful hair.
